Kombucha, fermented tea, was often viewed as a strange and unusual beverage, however, within recent years, the drink’s popularity has substantially risen.
Tasked with conceptualizing and developing the branding and packaging of a fictitious new kombucha product, I wanted to take a look at the drink’s least favorable characteristics and turn them into the strength of this project’s branding concept. Particularly the bite that consumers tend to look back on. When asked about what it’s like to drink kombucha, consumers generally mention the drink’s sharp taste; the drink is often described to have a bit of a bite to it, and so, inspired by the consumer’s experience of drinking the beverage, Chomp Kombucha was born.
Three label designs were created for individual flavors. Each design has their own unique characteristics and uses bold, playful illustrations in order to attract the consumer’s eye and peak their curiosity.
Chomp Kombucha is the drink that bites back, but don’t worry—you’ll like it.
